Bold and traditional Staunton design with a touch of elegance characterises this wonderfully crafted chess set. The chess pieces showcase their high quality attributes immediately when being held in your hands or moved over the mahogany board.

For the pieces, you will find high-grade boxwood for all the pieces which are crafted by skilled artisans and polished to a very shiny surface. To achieve the rich black colour on the black pieces, the wood is treated to resemble the appearance of much more expensive ebony wood. Great looks for a fraction of the cost! The king measures 3.5" (ca. 90mm) in height and due to the weighting brings about 47g on the scale. This weighting also gives the pieces a great stability and solid feel when being advanced towards the enemy's front on the chess board. Attention should be paid to the knight which has been crafted in fine details with single teeth being visible.

For the board, you get a beautiful mahogany / sycamore board. Since it is a veneer board, you don't have to pay an extraordinary price while still getting great looks. Its field size of 55mm gives the pieces a comfortable spacing on the board without standing too far away from each other. Attached to the bottom are felt pads to protect your table top from scratches and also allows for easy lifting of the board.
