Description

The wonderfully crafted and opulent 3.55" Taj Chess Pieces in precious Rosewood combined with a big 58mm Wenge board form this gorgeous and well matching chess set.

With a king height of 3.55" the Taj pieces aren't the biggest size but it is their opulence which give them their quality, together with an oriental touch portrayed by their round lines. Because of their bold design, the king brings a good weight of 60g on the scale. All pieces are double weighted to enhance their stability on the board and improves the balance, making it hard to accidentally knock them down. A green felt on the bottom of the pieces protect the board from unattractive scratches.

Thanks to the veneers used for the board, it keeps both weight and price down while still preserving the picturesque looks of real wood. The veneers used are sycamore for the bright squares and exotic wenge wood for the dark squares and elements of the board. It has a square size of 58mm and overall dimensions of 54 x 54cm and a thickness of 13mm. While it is not really a lightweight with its 2.7kg it is still considerably lighter than a board from solid wood. To allow an easy lifting off your table and protecting it from scratches caused by friction between board and table, it is equipped with four green felt pads at the underside.

A set of majestic dimension is portrayed with this set, thanks to the opulent features of the Taj pieces and the exotic feel of the wenge veneer board. Not only a great set to play with and it can be yours for a good price.
