Tournament No 5, 90mm

Are you in need for a larger chess set? Then our "Tournament No5" is the way to go with its 90mm king and large board. The pieces are of the traditional Staunton design and are neatly stored away in their individual place in the board's insert tray. This gives the set a superior look and feel over boards, where the pieces are simply put loosely into the board.

The chess pieces are made from hornbeam and as already said above, the king measures approximately 90mm in size with a weight of around 32g. By far heavier than our smaller sized Tournament sets. Looking at the board, you will find mahogany and sycamore inlay for the squares which are 50mm in size. So definitely not a dwarf of a chess set. Pieces and board together come in at nearly 2kg in weight.

Our tournament series is an excellent choice for your first professional chess set, and if you like big, then the No5 is right for you. Since it's a set, you don't have to worry whether the board is the right size for the pieces. Although it's not a small set, the aspect of it being foldable means you can neatly store it away in your bookshelf or a bigger drawer.
