Our Staunton No5 Pieces are ideal for someone just starting to explore the wonderful world of chess and prefers wood over plastic pieces. And due to their low price, they are also well suited for children where pieces might get their occasional knock. Damaging those pieces will be less painful than your luxurious ones...

All pieces are made from hornbeam. The king of this set measures 90mm in height and weighs approximately 33g. The ideal board for this set is one with a 45mm square size, as shown in our pictures.

In short: A very economical wooden chess set, combining a low price and the comfort of real wood and you wouldn't need to worry if your kids get hold of those pieces. This set is also available in the bigger Size 6 and Size 7 options.
