The use of wenge gives this board splendid looks with a touch of exotic but with a weight of approx. 2.7kg is significantly lighter than a solid wood board.
With a square size of 58mm the set is well suited for larger chess pieces with a king's base of no larger than 45mm. Most good quality standard chess pieces with a king height of 3.5" to 4" will be suitable as a rule of thumb, but it comes down to overall design criteria and of course personal taste. Overall, the board measures 54 x 54cm (ca. 21") with a thickness of 13mm (1/2").
